Training Session — Alex's Sales Playbook
Baseline synthesized 2026-09-04 from 24 real Plaud recordings (Aug 31 – Sep 4, 2026). Phase 1 of the Sales & Training System — Phase 2 (technicians recording their own sales, compared against this baseline) is not built yet.
Always charges for diagnosis
In almost every recording involving a non-trivial problem, Alex charges a separate diagnostic fee before any repair — ranging from $150 to $452 depending on complexity. This isn't hesitation, it's deliberate: it establishes an objective, documented root cause before quoting anything, and becomes a negotiation tool (the paid diagnostic is offered as a full credit toward the final job, never money "lost"). He also diagnoses beyond the reported problem — investigating additional lines beyond the first issue, not just what the customer mentioned.
Reveals scope in stages, on purpose
In the "Staged Plumbing Job Strategy" debrief, Alex explicitly describes the philosophy: never present the full scope (e.g. $3,000) at once, because the customer would likely refuse. Instead, start small (a diagnostic), use the time on-site to build trust, and reveal the real extent of the problem in stages — each stage already bought-in on the previous one.
Uses one recurring objective metric as proof
Water pressure in kPa shows up in nearly every valve/PRV/leak-related consultation — it's the "number" Alex consistently brings as non-arguable evidence that a real problem exists (e.g. "anything over 500 kPa is damaging pressure").
